3 Ways To Check Apple Support & Coverage for Your Devices (2025)

Apple offers comprehensive support for all its devices. However, if you aren’t sure if your warranty or Apple Care+ is still active, there are a couple of easy ways to check that. You can either use the serial number or check all your registered devices through the Apple Support portal. Both ways are pretty easy, and this guide will help you with the necessary steps.

1. Check Support Coverage with Serial Number

To make this process simple for non-tech-savvy people, Apple has made a dedicated website for users to check their coverage. Here’s how:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Navigate to General > About on your device, and copy your serial number.
  3. Go to checkcoverage.apple.com.
  4. Paste your serial number.
  5. Enter the CAPTCHA and click Continue.

You’ll see all the details regarding the device, including warranty and Apple Care+ coverage.

2. Sign in with your Apple ID

  1. Head to Apple’s Support website.
  2. Sign in with your Apple ID (the one used on the iPhone).
  3. Locate your desired device from the list.
  4. Click on it to check it’s coverage, and Apple Care status.

3. Check Coverage from your iPhone/Mac

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Navigate to General > About > Apple Care & Warranty on iPhone, or General > Apple Care & Warranty on Mac.
  3. Tap your desired device to check the information.

Here, you’ll find all the information like when your warranty is expiring, and coverage details. You can also download the Apple Support app, to talk to an executive about any issues.

Apple Care+ vs Normal Warranty

While both Apple Care and warranty both provide coverage against damage, warranty comes free with the purchase of a new Apple product (applicable for the first year), while Apple Care is an optional service that can be pruchased for a fee.

Apple Care Normal Warranty
Time Period Can be renewed every year 1 Year
Accidental Damage Coverage Yes (a service fee still applies) No
Hardware Damage Coverage Yes Yes
Priority Support Yes Rarely
Battery Replacement Yes Yes, but battery capacity should be less than 80%
Transferrable Yes No
