The Acer Predator Atlas 8 is finally coming to US buyers after its unveiling at Computex 2026 in May. The Windows 11 gaming handheld will launch on November 1 for $1,299 through Best Buy. Buyers will get the more powerful Intel Arc G3 Extreme model, while the standard Intel Arc G3 variant will not reach the US market. Best Buy has already sold out its initial pre-order allocation and plans to open more online orders on launch day.

Acer Predator Atlas 8 Features an 8-Inch 120Hz Display

Design of the Acer Predator Atlas 8

Acer has equipped the Predator Atlas 8 with an 8-inch IPS LCD that offers FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen reaches up to 500 nits. Its 120Hz refresh rate should also make fast-paced games look smoother. Under the hood, the handheld uses the Intel Arc G3 Extreme processor and Intel Arc B390 graphics. The graphics chip features 12 Xe3 GPU cores, while the device includes 24GB of LPDDR5x RAM. It offers 512GB of storage, which might not be enough for players with large PC game libraries.

The handheld PC runs on Windows 11 and can access Xbox Game Pass, along with the games available on it. Also, Acer has included dual-mode triggers and TMR magnetic joysticks for an enhanced gaming experience. The joysticks are designed to reduce stick drift. The device also supports high-bandwidth docking, allowing users to connect compatible accessories.

Price, Availability, and Connectivity

The Predator Atlas 8 is scheduled to release in the United States on November 1, 2026, for $1,299. The gadget will be offered solely through Best Buy. Although the retailer ran out of pre-orders by October 27, it plans to take new orders online on the release date. However, American customers will have access only to the version with Intel Arc G3 Extreme. The version with Intel Arc G3 will not be available in the US. The Predator Atlas 8 will also become the company’s first gaming handheld to officially launch in the country.

The handheld offers Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 for wireless connectivity. It also features two Thunderbolt 4 ports, so users can charge the device and connect an external monitor or storage drive at the same time. The microSD UHS-II card slot lets users expand the available storage. Acer has also introduced the Predator Atlas 7, which features a smaller 7-inch display. It uses the same Intel Arc G3 Extreme chip as the Atlas 8. However, Acer has yet to confirm its availability in the US.
