Apple has announced it will present its latest products on October 28, 2026, with the hashtag ‘Pro and Tell’. Greg Joswiak, the company’s senior vice president of marketing, mentioned this. Apple’s Instagram handle also announced it in a post. Apple has invited media houses to the event, which will be held in Los Angeles on October 28, 2026. Given past events like ‘Welcome Home’, held on October 13, it seems Apple will again skip the keynote and announce products through press releases.
Apple’s new MacBook Pro devices may come with OLED panels and touch-screen capabilities in their 14-inch and 16-inch variants. The new screens would offer better contrast and richer colors while also being more energy-efficient. Touch capabilities can be integrated with the current keyboard and trackpad, with macOS 27 said to include touch gesture support as well. Apple could also strengthen the hinge to prevent the screen from moving when users tap it.
The revamped laptops will be thinner and lighter than the current generation. Apple may replace the display notch with the Dynamic Island on its upcoming MacBook Pro models. However, reports suggest the high-end models could retain the M5 Pro and M5 Max chips. Apple may retain the existing MacBook Pro for affordability reasons. The new versions could cost more because of their OLED displays and touchscreen components.
Apple could upgrade the entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M6 chip, replacing the M5 processor introduced in October 2025. However, the company is not expected to make major design changes. Apple could also upgrade the 24-inch iMac with the M6 chip, replacing the M4 processor introduced in 2024. Both devices are likely to focus on performance improvements rather than external design changes.
This rumored iPad mini 8 is expected to launch alongside the new Apple MacBooks and include some hardware upgrades. First, its OLED screen will provide better contrast and brighter colors. Moreover, instead of the regular speaker holes, it will use a new vibration-based speaker system. This will increase the device’s water resistance and likely give it an IP rating. As for its processor, the device is supposed to use the new A20 Pro chipset, which apparently is the same processor used in the iPhone 18 Pro series. The front camera can move to the edge of the tablet when held horizontally. The display refresh rate can vary from 60Hz to 120Hz with ProMotion.
The upcoming MacBook Pro models with OLED touchscreens will likely cost more than the current models. OLED screens and touchscreens will raise production costs and, in turn, prices. Apple could continue selling the existing MacBook Pro models to people who want less expensive ones. In addition, the iPad mini 8 is expected to cost about $799 at release. That would be about $200 more than the current iPad mini, which starts at $599. Apple could reveal the new products on October 28, 2026, with pre-orders starting that day. Apple could release the MacBook Pro and iPad mini by November 6, 2026. However, Apple has not yet confirmed the products, their prices, or their release dates.
