Asus Launches ROG Xbox Ally In India: Specs & Pricing

For most Indian gamers, getting their hands on the latest handheld console is really difficult since most brands just don’t launch their products in the country. However, Asus has just announced its newest ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X in India. The Ally and Ally X are the first official Xbox-branded consoles, and you can pre-order them today, with official sales beginning on October 16.

The standard Xbox Ally in India is priced at INR 69,990, while the ROG Xbox Ally X starts at INR 1,14,990. Both models are now available for pre-order through Asus Exclusive Stores, Asus e-Shop, Amazon, and Vijay Sales. Those who pre-order will get a free ROG Slash Bag and a 1-year Game Pass Ultimate subscription.

ROG Xbox Ally & Ally X: Features

The ROG Xbox Ally and the Ally X both feature the same 7-inch full HD LCD screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of up to 500 nits. The display supports AMD FreeSync Premium, is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, and features an anti-reflective coating.

The insides, though, are slightly different. The standard Ally is powered by the AMD Ryzen Z2 A processor, coupled with 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 512GB of built-in storage. On the other hand, the X version gets the faster AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor, along with 24GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 1TB of storage. Plus, it also gets the upgraded impulse triggers, instead of the hall effect keys on the standard model.

As per Microsoft, this partnership with Asus helped them optimize the Windows 11 experience for gaming and address issues relating to distractions. The Ally can free up background resources, turn off non-essential tasks to conserve resources, and enable higher frame rates. Plus, both consoles feature an upgraded GameBar with Armoury Crate integration. This helps users quickly toggle between different performance modes, user inputs, and even different storefronts, such as Steam and Xbox.

The standard Ally features a 60Wh battery, while the X version houses an upgraded 80Wh cell. Both consoles support 67W fast charging.

We are set to get our hands on review units for the Ally and Ally X, so make sure to check out the review coming soon when it drops in a week.
