ColorOS 17 Arrives on OPPO F35 Series With AI Call Guard and Privacy Features

If you’ve been waiting for the new ColorOS update on the F35 series, we have some good news. ColorOS 17 is finally here. The update brings several performance improvements, AI-powered features, and security enhancements to the company’s F Series lineup. It also introduces an F Series-exclusive feature called ColorOS Smoothness Boost, designed to keep the software responsive during extended use.

According to OPPO, ColorOS 17 uses its Laminar Flow Engine and other system optimization technologies to improve app stability and loading times. The company claims app launch stability improves by up to 55%, while Gallery thumbnails load up to 50% faster on first launch than on ColorOS 16.

ColorOS 17 Brings Performance Improvements to OPPO F35 Series

One key addition is ColorOS Smoothness Boost, which OPPO says is exclusive to the F Series. The feature works alongside the Laminar Flow Engine to optimize system responsiveness and deliver a smoother experience over time.

OPPO says the improvements should be noticeable when opening apps, switching between tasks, and browsing photos in the Gallery. The company is also focusing on resource efficiency to maintain consistent performance during everyday use, including multitasking between social media, messaging, photography, and entertainment apps.

The update also brings AI-powered security features. AI Call Guard alerts users to potential fraud involving synthetic voices and AI-manipulated faces during calls and video interactions. The feature aims to help users identify emerging digital threats.

ColorOS 17 also includes Private Computing Cloud (PCC), which OPPO says helps protect personal data when using AI features. The company claims that personal data remains private and cannot be accessed by anyone, including OPPO itself. Beyond these additions, the update brings deeper AI integration to everyday smartphone tasks, including organizing information, planning activities, and enhancing photographs.
