How do Fortnite Rank Modes Work?

In Fortnite’s ranking system, your starting rank at the beginning of a season is determined by a combination of factors, including your past performance and a mandatory placement match that occurs with each new season. It has two special ranked modes, each with its own rank progression system and unique badges:

• Battle Royale Mode offers space to play Solo, Duos, or squads, utilizing Fortnite’s mechanics, including building, crafting, and strategy.
• Zero Build Mode focuses on solo play in Duos, eliminating building and focusing on combat and awareness of the map.

1. Placement Points
