Explained: Who Makes TCL TVs & Where Are They Made

TCL has become one of those quiet names that slowly but surely turned into a powerhouse in the TV world. This brand is known for incorporating advanced features into its most budget-friendly models, thereby earning a strong reputation among buyers worldwide. A wide network of manufacturing centers across Asia, Europe, and the Americas supports this brand as a true global brand in the TV market.

The company was founded in 1981 in Guangdong, China. Like LG, TCL wasn’t an electronics company when it started. Instead, it manufactured cassette tapes before shifting the business to electronics and ultimately to televisions and home appliances. By the end of the 1990s, TCL’s products were reaching customers worldwide, including those well beyond China.

The ownership of TCL TVs lies with TCL Electronics, a branch of TCL Holdings. In 2019, the company restructured its operations to create a clearer focus between its technology research and consumer electronics units. Li Dongsheng, who founded TCL, now serves as both chairman and CEO.

Where are TCL TVs manufactured?

TCL makes its televisions in more than 30 manufacturing centers spread across four continents. Some of its biggest production sites are in China (Chengdu and Huizhou), Mexico, Poland, India, and Vietnam. This extensive manufacturing network enables TCL to meet global demand and deliver products efficiently. The company also operates research and display technology centers in Wuhan and Guangzhou, which support its innovation and product quality.

TCL’s Strategy for Global Success

TCL’s strength lies in its well-balanced design, innovation, and price. Given its primary investments in Mini LED and QLED technology, it proves that the company stays keen on improving the quality of the view without hiking the prices too high. By giving customers more features for less, TCL has earned a strong reputation among everyday TV buyers.

TCL’s transformation from a local Chinese company to a top international TV brand shows its dedication to progress and innovation. And with new technologies on the way, TCL’s journey is far from over.
