After months of speculation, Google is bringing a slew of Gemini AI features to Chrome. These new features enable users to access quick summaries, compare information across tabs, and even connect with Google services, such as YouTube and Calendar. The update is being rolled out to Windows and Mac users in the US at no additional cost.
Google has added AI Mode directly into the Chrome address bar. Now, when you search, you can see AI-powered overviews that give clearer answers. You can also submit follow-up questions that delve deeper into a subject.
Gemini in Chrome makes browsing more productive and manageable. It could condense a page or work on multiple tabs at once, such as if you need to compare two different products. Moreover, Gemini integrates with Google apps, such as Maps, YouTube, and Calendar, allowing you to plan, view, or locate things quickly.
Google is also concerned about safety with Gemini Nano. It will alert you if a site seems fishy or is potentially suspicious. In addition to that, it will recommend good passwords for supported sites, helping you stay safer online.
Google plans to add new abilities to Chrome’s AI agent in the coming months. It will let you reopen old tabs, search through your history, and even guide you through everyday tasks, such as making bookings or purchases. The agent won’t perform any high-risk actions on its own.
AI browsers are becoming the next big battleground. Competitors such as Comet and Neon may offer new ideas, but Chrome’s existing user base gives Google a head start. If the features integrate easily, then Chrome will remain users’ first choice if they require both convenience and smart browsing.
