Insta360’s New Wireless Mic Has 32-Bit Float Recording and a Customizable Display

Insta360 has launched a new wireless microphone for content creators, adding another option to its audio lineup between the flagship Mic Pro and the entry-level Mic Air. Called the Insta360 Mic, the new model comes with 32-bit float recording, AI-powered noise cancellation, and an E-Ink display that users can customize with their own images.

The customizable display is one of the microphone’s more unusual features. Users can upload images such as a channel logo, an emoji, a landscape, or a picture of their pet to personalize the transmitter. The microphone also offers multiple voice profiles and recording configurations, making it suitable for everything from solo videos to interviews and multi-camera productions.

Insta360 Mic Offers 32-Bit Float Recording and AI Noise Cancellation

The Insta360 Mic supports 32-bit float recording, which gives creators more flexibility when dealing with changing audio levels. Recordings captured too quietly or with excessively loud peaks can be adjusted during editing, potentially saving creators from having to record a scene again because of audio issues.

For background noise, the microphone uses an onboard audio processor and an NPU-powered AI noise-cancellation algorithm. The system is designed to reduce unwanted sounds while keeping voices natural. There are also two automatic gain modes. Auto mode helps prevent audio from becoming overloaded when the sound gets too loud, while Dynamic mode works to keep volume levels consistent.

Users can also choose between three voice profiles: Regular, Rich, and Bright. These presets adjust the depth and brightness of a voice without requiring users to make manual changes during editing.

Insta360 Mic Supports Multiple Transmitters and Receivers

For interviews and podcasts with more than one speaker, the Insta360 Mic offers flexible recording configurations. Its 4TX + 1RX configuration lets you connect four transmitters to a single receiver. It also supports cross-generation compatibility so that you can connect both Insta360 Mic and Mic Pro transmitters to the receiver at once. For instance, you can record four people using two transmitters of each type.

The mic system can also work in the 2TX + 4RX configuration. In this configuration, up to two transmitters can send synchronized audio to four receivers at one time. The user may use this configuration to broadcast the same audio to four cameras. This gives editors more options while they edit their videos. These configurations support both simple recordings and more complex production setups.

The Insta360 Mic supports long recordings thanks to its extended battery life. Each transmitter can run for 13 hours on a single charge. With the charger included in the kit, total battery life reaches 34 hours. It will definitely come in handy when you film travel videos or outdoors, as well as livestreams that last for hours. It can also help creators recording on back-to-back shooting days, especially when charging options are limited.

Insta360 Mic Supports Direct Connection to Compatible Cameras

With Insta360 Direct Connect, you can pair the microphone transmitter with supported cameras via Bluetooth. These cameras include Insta360 X6, X5, Luna Ultra, Luna Pro, GO Ultra, and Ace Pro 2. This device can capture quality audio at 48 kHz without a separate receiver. X6 and Luna cameras can pair up to two Mic transmitters at once for two people.

For other devices, the microphone works with smartphones, DSLRs, and mirrorless cameras. Users can connect it through the included USB-C smartphone adapter or a 3.5mm cable. The transmitter can also clip onto a shirt or jacket and work as a wireless lavalier microphone. This lets speakers move around without a cable connecting them to the camera. For devices that do not support Direct Connect, users can rely on the receiver for a conventional wireless connection.

Insta360 Mic Price and Availability

The global release date for Insta360 Mic is set to October 22, 2026. The 2 Transmitters + 1 Receiver bundle will retail for US$249.99, whereas the 1 Transmitter + 1 Receiver bundle will sell for US$139.99. Customers can also purchase the Insta360 Mic Transmitter separately for US$79.99.

The microphone will be available through the Insta360 Official Store, Amazon, and authorized retailers. Buyers can choose a package based on the number of transmitters and receivers required for their recording setup.
