iPhone 6S is More Powerful Than the New Apple MacBook, Test Shows

All hail the new Apple A9 chip. In some surprising tests results, it’s recorded that the new iPhone 6S is more powerful than some new Apple MacBook models and it gives a tough competition to the others.

No, there isn’t a typo in the article title. According to some tests, Apple iPhone 6S is as powerful as the Apple’s new 12-inch MacBook, and the phone even outperforms it in some tests.
We all know that the iPhone ‘S’ models are always the most innovative ones and they deliver the best performance. Along the same lines, this year’s iPhone 6S broke the previous records and it’s as powerful as the Apple’s latest Mac-books.
Daring Fireball’s John Grubber performed some benchmark tests on iPhone 6S using Geekbench 3. For the readers who don’t know, Geekbench 3 is a multi-platform testing tool used to measure the overall performance of a system.
The Apple iPhone 6S features the impressive A9 chip that beats Apple’s 1.1GHz and 1.2GHz MacBooks, and it gives a tough competition to the 1.3GHZ model. On a single core, the iPhone 6S scored 2,500, which is higher than 2,295 score of 1.1GHz MacBook and 2,420 score of 1.2GHz MacBook.
Willing to know more about these Geekbench tests?
Well, it tests the gadgets in 3 different categories and then generates an overall performance score. These categories consist of how the device performs overall, its ability to run heavy-duty applications, graphics performance and much more.
“The new iPhone 6S beats the new MacBook in single-core performance on Geekbench, and is within spitting distance in multi-core. That’s astounding. I can’t wait to see the scores for the iPad Pro later this year,” John Gruber writes.
Well, it tells a lot about the power Apple is packing under the hood of iOS devices and I’m excited to try out the iPad Pro and see if it has the power and usability to replace my MacBook.
