SP’s: OnePlus has announced, they will be assembling their devices locally in partnership with Foxconn. Foxconn has partnered with OnePlus to facilitate the assembling of new devices at their proposed Rising Star manufacturing facility in Andhra Pradesh.
Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the Make In India campaign on September 25, 2014, and since then, it has been a cardinal move towards India Inc’s dream to be a manufacturing hub. Many MNCs around the world have consolidated the roots of Make In India campaign.
OnePlus, with a goal to expand its business in, what is called the largest potential market for electronics sector, has planned to start the production of its devices in India, under the guidance of Make In India campaign, which will facilitate quick and successful production for OnePlus devices.
Foxconn has partnered with OnePlus to facilitate the assembling of new devices at their proposed Rising Star manufacturing facility in Sri City: Integrated Business City, Andhra Pradesh. The partnership was announced by CEO Pete Lau in Bengaluru.
OnePlus’s decision to assemble devices locally is in accordance to the fact, elevating custom duty on fully assembled devices will reduce their production costs, will demonstrate a decision of Best of Both Worlds. Devices will become cheaper benefiting both the customer and the company. Moreover, the company has not been able to meet the stock demands which motivated them to assemble the devices locally.
The 30,000 sq. ft. facility will have the production cap limit of 500,000 units per month and a full-time workforce of around 1000 workers will be responsible for keeping the stock ample.
OnePlus’s journey in India has been quite amazing so far. They’ve sold around 250,000 units of their very first debutante One Plus One. CEO Pete Lou was quite happy with One Plus Two’s performance in the flash sale. 15,000 units of the device were bought by the customers in just 12 minutes.
OnePlus has plans to initiate the production process somewhere around December this year. Furthermore, we already know that Asus, Xiaomi and Gionee have already partnered with Foxconn for the production of their devices locally in the Rising Star facility. It will be quite riveting to acknowledge the true conqueror in this Game Of Thrones.
