Qualcomm Shows Off Its Next-Gen Snapdragon Chips at IMC 2026, Teases iQOO 16 and Xiaomi 18 Pro

Qualcomm has showcased its latest flagship mobile processors at India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2026 in New Delhi. The company gave a first look at upcoming smartphones from iQOO, Motorola, and Xiaomi powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6. Both chipsets focus on AI, gaming, cameras, and connectivity for the next generation of premium smartphones.

New AI and Gaming Features

Qualcomm considers the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 its most powerful mobile chip yet. This chip is designed to balance power with AI capabilities to improve premium Android smartphones. It has agentic AI features that can detect users’ needs, suggest actions, and perform tasks with less manual effort. According to Qualcomm, these features can provide faster, more personalized, and more dependable experiences throughout the day.

Beyond AI-enhanced performance and efficiency, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 also improves gaming and camera performance. With Adreno Neural Fusion, the chipset uses AI to deliver better visuals, more immersive gameplay, and longer gaming sessions. For camera functionality, the chipset supports Advanced Professional Video (APV) and Intelligent Pixel Control.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and Upcoming Smartphones

The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 uses some of the same technologies as the Qualcomm Extreme edition but is designed for a broader range of premium phones. These include advanced 2 nm process technology, a customized Qualcomm Oryon CPU, the new Adreno GPU, and the Qualcomm Hexagon NPU. Together, these components support features across AI, gaming, imaging, and connectivity.

Qualcomm also gave visitors at IMC 2026 a first look at three upcoming smartphones using its latest Snapdragon platforms. The lineup includes the iQOO 16, Motorola Signature 27, and Xiaomi 18 Pro. Qualcomm India says agentic AI could help smartphones understand users’ needs and complete everyday tasks, rather than simply finding information. The two new chipsets extend Qualcomm’s flagship range as smartphone makers prepare their next premium devices.
