LG UltraGear Evo Unveils 5K AI Upscaling Gaming Monitors at CES 2026

The UltraGear Evo line was unveiled at the 2026 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) previews. LG Electronics produced the first 5K AI Upscaling technology that would provide a high quality of images without the need to upgrade to graphics processing units (GPUs).

LG has announced its new UltraGear Evo gaming monitors ahead of CES 2026., and will incorporate OLED, MiniLED, and ultra-wide formats to redefine high-resolution gaming.

Flagship Powerhouses

Its flagship 39 OLED 39GX950B product has a 5K2K at 165 GHz resolution, dual mode capability up to 330 GHz in wide field height mode, response time of 0.03 ms GTG, a pixel density of 142 PPI, and Primary RGB Tandem technology that provides better peak brightness by a factor of about 30% than its predecessors.

In its 27GM950B MiniLED model, the blooming is suppressed using 2,304 local dimming zones and the maximum luminance of 1,250 nits, and the VESA DisplayHDR1000 format.

The 52 inch 52G930B model offers 5K2K at 240 Hz with curvature radius of 1000; this making it offer a 33% increase in useful workspace compared to ultra-high-definition displays.

Live AI would refine the low-resolution material to the level of approximately 5K of refinement and even streamline visual scenes and sound qualities minimizing the hardware expense load at times of video card shortages.

Expert Take

Lee Choong-hwoan, head of the Display Business at the LG Media Entertainment Solution Company, said:

“The new UltraGear evo marks a definitive turning point, signaling the end of compromises in gaming display performance. With innovations like industry-first 5K AI Upscaling, the lineup ensures that whether gamers prefer perfect blacks, unmatched brightness, or expansive scale, they can enjoy the same high standard of performance, clarity and immersion in high resolution”

Bold Horizon Ahead

Future releases are the UltraGear GX7 OLED that can support the 540Hz refresh rates, which will be exhibited at CES.

The entrance of AI-powered displays into the mass market has allowed the UltraGear Evo to place LG into the future of establishing itself as the dominant company offering professional specs with consumer prices.
