Uber Eats has introduced a new option called a Live order chat, where merchants can now send messages to the customer regarding their order. This aspect is to enhance communication and eliminate errors in the process of placing an order.

This update enables restaurants in real time to check and ensure substitutions on unavailable requests, clarifications on customer requests, and dietary and allergy information. Nonetheless, the chat is one-click to commence, and a customer can engage only after a merchant initiates the chat. This makes way for the users flooding restaurants with unwanted messages.

The live chat can be applicable in pickup and delivery orders and is closed at the moment when the food is delivered to the courier or the customer takes it. Its launch follows closely three months after a feature with the same name was offered by DoorDash. Uber Eats is doing its best to keep up with the competition by providing restaurants more means of handling orders and making customers happy.

The use of AI tools makes feedback and menus more understandable

Besides live chat, Uber Eats is introducing several AI-enabled solutions to merchants. Summaries of the reviews done by customers through the use of AI are among the most essential features. These summaries provide a short utile understanding of the established feedback in the restaurants thereby enabling them to build a shortcut instead of spending time reading every review.

Uber Eats will also implement the use of AI in menus by making item descriptions. These descriptions aim to guide the users with better knowledge of what they are ordering. Making things easy to understand by customers can be done through appropriate and descriptive names that may, in turn, help reduce confusion in the minds of customers as to what they want to buy, thereby leading to an increase in satisfaction.

AI-Designed Food Pictures:

Uber Eats is also enhancing the aesthetics of food to be displayed on the app. With the help of AI, the company will now be able to augment poor-quality images of food. This involves such modifications as lighting, framing, and resolution.

As an example, when a dish is photographed in a plastic takeout box, AI can reproduce the same recipe in plate form in an attempt to make it look more appetizing. Ambitious pictures of food can go a long way. Customers are more willing to order when they look at the beautiful images of food. This is an improvement that benefits the restaurants that might not have professional photographs of each of their menu items.

Customers can get rewards by sharing photos:

To give menus even more of a visual appeal, Uber Eats is now inviting customers to share photos of the food they received. Once a user has made an order, they will get an Add Photos button on our rate order page. When one of the customer’s photos is picked and shared, they would get 3 dollars’ worth of Uber Cash.

The offer is already available in the U.S, Canada, Mexico, and the U.K. It is an easy means by which customers can explore the menu of the app and receive a little in the form of a reward.

A Frivolity to make it to the Food Delivery Race:

Such changes are part of the drive by Uber Eats to remain competitive in a rapidly evolving food delivery industry. Options such as live chat and artificial intelligence assist in making communication clear, minimizing errors, and leading to a more pleasant and convenient ordering process for both the restaurants and the customers.

Uber Eats serves that purpose as well, since by paying attention to the visuals and making the menus more comprehensible, they are making the customers feel more confident in their choices. Meanwhile, the company is providing merchants with more intelligent tools to deal with their listings and comprehend customer feedback.

With greater numbers of individuals finding food delivery apps, it is possible to say that such a feature may be a giant contributor in determining which platform they will use. Uber Eats is demonstrating that it is up to the challenge of new requirements with a combination of human touch and some high-tech solutions to the problem.
