It is not unusual to see a Nintendo Direct in June or July each year. Nintendo fans are accustomed to a new one but with the end of July nearing there is still nothing new on the books. This has resulted in increased speculation particularly in the wake of recent remarks by a past marketing head of Nintendo.
They say a July Direct would be logical primarily due to the release of such games as Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. In the last couple of days there have also been leakers and insiders alluding to the possibility of a Direct coming soon. Players would need an update since with several games awaiting official release schedules there is a lot of anticipation then there might be even a greater hint of a potential announcement.
Recently Nintendo planned to set up a maintenance period on both the original switch and the next switch 2. The latter is a standard pre-direct action. Maintenance enables the company to refresh the eShop, introduce pre-orders and get ready to introduce shadow drops of new games. It will happen at 11 p.m. PT “Thursday, July 31 at 7 a.m. BST” to 12:30 a.m. PT “8.30 a.m. BST” on Wednesday, July 30.
This scheduling is quite peculiar because Nintendo directs would typically be presented later in the day but 11 p.m. PT is 3 p.m. in Japan where Nintendo is headquartered as well as where a considerable portion of its audience resides. It might be possible that Nintendo is making the adjustments so that it can align with the intentions of the Japanese watchers.
So far Nintendo is looking a little bit sparse in terms of release schedule with Switch 2 without talking about the Switch 2 version of Kirby and the Forgotten Land in August or Pokémon Legends: Z-A in October no one believes confirmed first-party games will be released in the rest of the year several games have been alluded to such as Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, Kirby Air Riders, and Metroid Prime 4.
Even though the fans look forward to the release of these games later this year or in the early part of next year, no release dates have been announced so far. Such announcements would find the ideal location in a direct manner, that being the case, Nintendo lately began initiating significant game announcement disclosures via social networking sites rather than waiting until directed.
So, a Direct is quite probable but not absolute. This is due to continuous rumors and scheduled maintenance that make us think there might be an announcement of something big shortly although it is not a verified thing, Nintendo will likely have a Direct shortly. Until an official announcement by Nintendo, it is always best to remain cautious. Nevertheless, these days might be very thrilling to fans who would like to have news regarding Switch 2 and new games.
