Xiaomi Launches Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 and 4 Compact in India Starting at ₹7,999

In China, Xiaomi makes many things. Thinking of buying a phone? Get the Xiaomi 17. Or what about a car? Maybe the ridiculously powerful SU7 EV could be worth a go. Still, Xiaomi’s home products are where the brand really shines. I’ve bought many things on my trips to China, and I’ve been asked the same thing. Why doesn’t Xiaomi bring this to India? Well, it seems like they’ve listened because their home brand, Mijia, is finally here. And its first products are the Smart Air Purifier 6 and Mijia Smart Air Purifier 4 Compact. The new lineup focuses on smart air purification with real-time air quality monitoring, app connectivity, voice assistant support, and quieter operation. Prices start at ₹7,999, and all three models will go on sale in India from September 2. Here’s everything you need to know about them.

Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 is built for larger rooms

The flagship Xiaomi Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 is designed for spaces up to 940 sq. ft. and features a Particle CADR of 443 m³/h and a Formaldehyde CADR of 218 m³/h. Xiaomi says it can circulate clean air through a 108 sq. ft. room in around 3.5 minutes under its testing conditions. Its biggest highlight is Xiaomi’s new PentaClean purification system, which combines a multi-stage filter, activated carbon, UV-C sterilization, and negative ion technology to tackle dust, pollen, smoke, pet dander, and airborne pollutants. I was invited to the Xiaomi briefing and tested the Purifier 6 myself. It cleared a small smoke chamber and brought the AQI from 600 down to 10 in roughly 30 seconds.

The purifier also features a large color display that shows PM2.5, PM1, temperature, humidity, and overall air quality in real time. Users can remotely control it through the Xiaomi Home app or use Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant for voice commands. The Purifier 6 costs ₹19,999.

Mijia Smart Air Purifier 4 Compact

The Smart Air Purifier 4 Compact could be the best-value air purifier on the market, costing just ₹7,999. That’s because it supports rooms over 400 sq. ft. and uses a 3-in-1 filtration system that removes 99.97% of particles as small as 0.3 microns. It also carries TÜV Rheinland Allergy Care Certification, making it suitable for households looking to reduce pollen, dust, smoke, and pet allergens.

Unlike the larger model, the Compact uses a simple four-color LED indicator to display indoor air quality. It also includes Auto, Sleep, and Manual purification modes, weighs just 2.2kg, and operates at a quiet 20dB in Sleep Mode. Like its sibling, it supports Xiaomi Home app controls as well as Alexa and Google Assistant integration.

Alongside the new Mijia lineup, Xiaomi has reintroduced the Smart Air Purifier 4 Lite in India. It offers a 360 m³/h Particle CADR, covers rooms between 269 and 463 sq. ft., and includes a three-layer filtration system with activated carbon and TÜV Rheinland Allergy Care certification. The Smart Air Purifier 4 Lite costs ₹12,999.
