It’s no secret that the world within Minecraft is huge, with many things to do and explore. However, getting around on foot can be time-consuming. That’s where the saddle comes in—it allows players to ride horses and unlock much faster transportation. But unlike most items, saddles can’t be crafted in Survival mode. Instead, players need to find them.
There are several places where you can find a saddle in Minecraft. These include:
Loot chests are one of the easiest ways to find a saddle (along with many other useful items). You can discover them in various locations, including Dungeons, Nether Fortresses, Desert Temples, Bastions, Jungle Temples, and End Cities.
When a leatherworker reaches Expert level, they’ll offer saddles in exchange for six emeralds. This is a simple and reliable way to get one if you’ve got an emerald farm or a good trading hall.
As strange as it sounds, it’s possible to fish up a saddle. While the chances are less than 1%, using a fishing rod enchanted with Luck of the Sea improves your odds. We also recommend setting up an AFK fishing farm for better results.
Ravagers—hostile mobs that appear during raids—can sometimes drop saddles when defeated. It’s a risky method, but if you’re already defending a village, it’s worth a try.
If you’re playing in creative mode, you don’t need to go looking for the saddle. Instead, you can grab it from the inventory menu. Just note that saddles are stored in different inventory tabs depending on your edition:
