NEW DELHI: WhatsApp beta for Android has received another update. The update version, reported to be 2.17.122 or 2.17.123, brings in the ability to allow users to send multiple contacts at once in a chat.
Currently, the app lets users to share only one contact at a time. This makes the process time-consuming and cumbersome in case a user needs to share multiple contacts. Now, when a user is ‘inside’ a chat window and sending contact info, he/she can simply tap on the names and select them. The selected contacts will be shown at the top.
Users can also tap on the small ‘x’ icon on the contact to remove them from the selected list. The feature is likely to soon make it to the non-beta version of Android too. Those eager to try the new feature can do so by joining the beta programme by registering on the company’s website.
Last month, WhatsApp rolled out the old Text Status feature. The instant messaging company rolled an update that replaced the text status feature with the new Status Stories feature, which didn’t get a positive feedback from users.

In addition, beta members last month got a wider GIF library for the app as it now supports Gboard GIF images.
